Science Week 2020

What a week it has been! From the hatching of the eggs to the dissecting of fish, the boys have been involved in a variety of science related activities and workshops.

On Monday, the Lower School had a whole day totally dedicated to science while Years 3, 5, 6 and 8 met a range of exotic animals and learnt about their habitats and adaptations.  Click here to view the gallery.

On Tuesday, the Years 1-5 were introduced to James Carter – a brilliant poet whose inspiration comes from beyond our atmosphere. He delivered a fantastic assembly which was followed by workshops during which boys wrote some beautiful poetry on space.  Click here to view the gallery.

On Wednesday, Years 4 & 7 this time travelled to space using virtual reality technology and learnt lots of fascinating facts about most planets of our solar system. Click here to view the gallery.

On Thursday, the Years 7 & 8 took part in the very popular Dissection club and looked at the external and internal anatomy of fish. Click here to view the gallery.

Well done to all boys for also taking part in one or both competitions – Chick Lottery and Photography. The results were revealed on Thursday morning during assembly and I will be posting more about this in the newsletter after half term – some amazing entries from the boys and members of staff so thank you all who entered the competitions. Until next year, enjoy the beauty of our planet as there is only one of the kind.
