These events offer a wonderful opportunity to explore our school, meet our dedicated staff, and learn more about our curriculum and facilities. Choosing the right school is a significant decision, and visiting us is the best way to get a genuine feel for life at Rokeby.
Entry at 4+ September 2027 onwards
Register
Reception places are allocated from December, two years prior to entry, meaning offers are typically made 21 months before your son starts school.
You may register your son for 4+ entry at any time from birth. A non-refundable registration fee of £120 applies.
Reception September 2025

Offer Process
Starting in December 2025, offers for Reception 2027 entry places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Therefore, provided a place is available, you will receive an offer letter upon registration.
Once all places are filled, a waiting list will be created.
Next Steps
Once an offer is made, families will have six weeks to accept and pay a non-refundable deposit of £2,500 to secure your son’s place. The deposit is retained until the end of Year 8 or the end of the pupil’s final term at Rokeby School, providing a term’s notice is given.
Reception Admissions & Timeline
We recognise this is an important stage for boys and their families ahead of joining Rokeby. To support you through this journey, we have outlined a clear admissions timeline along with the key transition events designed to ensure a smooth and happy start to life at Rokeby. Entry at 7+
For boys registered for Year 3 entry in September 2026, assessment mornings will take place on Wednesday 12 November 2025 and Wednesday 19 November 2025, with boys being invited to attend on just one of these days, depending on their current school. Families of all eligible boys in our system will be contacted by email in
mid-September 2025 with further details of the assessment along with a link to the application form.
The assessment will include:
- Written papers in English (creative writing with elements of spelling and grammar)
- A Mathematics paper
- A computer-based Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning assessment
- A group Music/Drama activity
- An informal interview
Please note that we do not publish past papers.
The deadline for application is Friday 10 October 2025, or earlier if capacity is reached. We therefore recommend early application to avoid any disappointment.
Entry at 8+
For boys registered for Year 4 entry in September 2026, the assessment morning will take place on Thursday 13 November 2025. Families of all eligible boys in our system will be contacted by email in mid-September 2025 with further details of the assessment along with a link to the application form.
The assessment will include:
- Written papers in English (creative writing with elements of spelling and grammar)
- A Mathematics paper
- A computer-based Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning assessment
- A group Music/Drama activity
- An informal interview

Occasional Places
We maintain small waiting lists for occasional places that may become available at other entry points throughout the school.
Each candidate is assessed in relation to his age, with younger boys typically taking part in a more informal assessment process.
