Trips

We believe it is vital to offer our boys opportunities to go on a variety of trips during their time at Rokeby.

Trips enable children to develop co-operative and social skills and learn to develop personal responsibility and independence.

All our trips are designed to assist the curriculum, and are sometimes subject-specific field trips, such as Geography and Science. The expectation is that all boys will go on at least two outings a year, which may include a visit to a theatre, art gallery or local place of religious worship. We have recently taken the younger boys to The Living Rainforest, London Transport Museum, Imperial War Museum, Science Museum, London Zoo. Every year towards the end of the autumn term Reception to Year 6 go to see a pantomime, Year 7 go to see a play or musical in London and Year 8 visit The London Dungeon as a Christmas treat.

Residential trips are arranged for whole year groups, starting at Year 4 and ending at the end of Year 8. The cost for many of these is included in the fees. We often arrange trips abroad, recent destinations have included The Loire Valley, Sorrento, Provence and Iceland. Sports trips include a Rugby tour to Canada, Cricket to Sri Lanka, a pre-season Football tour to Holland in the summer, the IAPS Ski championships in Italy and a PGL watersports trip to Spain.
