A special assembly for the Lower School

The boys in the Lower School had a fascinating talk by Year 2 parent, Mr Kirkham, who shared his experiences of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in January. The boys learned all about the wildlife Mr Kirkham and team saw, the sleeping arrangements and challenges they faced. Mr Kirkham was raising money for the Baobab Kindergarten in Nairobi, a school with which Year 2 have a special relationship, as they have been writing to pen pals there since September. Following the assembly, both Year 2 classes were given letters from their pen pals!

M Kirkham’s assembly chimed perfectly with Mrs Sanderson’s PSHE lessons, in which boys have learned about setting goals and the sense of satisfaction that comes when they achieve them, no matter how small the goal.  Thank you to Mr Kirkham for sharing such an amazing experience!
