Tristan O

In which year group did you join Rokeby?

Year 3

In which year did you leave Rokeby?

2023, in Year 8

Which senior school are you attending?

KCS Wimbledon, where I am participating in internal and external school activities, especially music competitions. Additionally, I have represented KCS at numerous open days in panels with parents and future students, and have returned to Rokeby to represent KCS at the Senior School Information Evening.

What is your fondest memory of your time at Rokeby?

Making the Arts Week and Multicultural Day videos in Year 8. It was so fun to film everything and we got to record the teachers dancing to ‘Pump up the Jam’ by Technotronic!

How did your teachers or friends at Rokeby inspire or influence you during those years?

The teachers were patient and kind and helped me realise there’s no challenge you cannot overcome if you put your mind to it. Particularly Mr Attenborough who throughout the Academic Scholar process was so wonderful and supportive, Mr Abu who helped me to stop seeing Maths as insurmountable, as well as Ms Stephens for music and Mr Belbin for French, and so many other teachers to the point that this response would be endless if I continued!

Did you face any challenges during your time at Rokeby? How did overcoming them shape who you are today?

When I first joined Rokeby, I was having trouble settling in, but with support from teachers and friends I was able to find my footing.
