Rokeby burst into colour and rhythm during Arts Week, a three‑day celebration of creativity inspired by this year’s vibrant Carnival theme. Every boy – from Reception through to Year 8 – took part in an exciting programme of workshops, performances and trips.

The heartbeat of the week was unmistakably the South American drumming workshops, a clear highlight for many pupils. The boys threw themselves into the lively rhythms and infectious beats, filling the school with Carnival spirit.

Alongside the drumming, boys explored an impressive breadth of creative disciplines led by visiting artists, musicians and dancers, as well as our own talented teachers. These included:

  • Textiles
  • Lego art
  • Tudor portraits
  • Latin art
  • Dance Days workshops (Lower School)
  • Crazy Comics (Lower School)
  • Fun with Charlotte Artist (Lower School)
  • Paper animals
  • DT Challenge
  • ICT art
  • Sport art
  • Pencil case design
  • Calligraphy
  • Zentangles
  • Mobile phone bags
  • Stage fighting
  • Stage make‑up
  • Chromatography t‑shirts
  • Share a skill session
  • Slime‑making
  • Samba
  • …and much more!

The breadth of activities ensured that every boy found a way to shine and to try something new! For an authentic flavour of Arts Week, please watch the video put together by Viraat I and Zac B (Year 8).

Arts Week 2026 offered a truly exceptional range of opportunities, all made possible through the dedication and creativity of staff and visiting practitioners. We are hugely grateful to Mr Milburn for orchestrating such a rich, exciting programme of experiences for the boys.

We are already buzzing about what Arts Week 2027 might bring!
