During half term, the Year 6 boys enjoyed an exciting trip to Provence, France. They visited the impressive amphitheatre in Arles, where they struck their own victory poses, and explored the magnificent Palais des Papes (Papal Palace) in Avignon. They also explored sites such as the Pont du Gard, a remarkable Roman aqueduct, taking in its stunning surroundings. A boat trip through the Camargue provided an opportunity to experience the region’s unique landscape and wildlife.

In the historic walled city of Aigues-Mortes, the boys worked in groups to complete a photo bingo challenge before enjoying some free time in the local shops and cafés, where they confidently put their conversational French skills into practice. A particular highlight for many was the visit to the Haribo Museum. There, they learned about the history of le bonbon and, of course, sampled some of the sweet treats on offer. We are extremely proud of how well the boys represented Rokeby, and how much their French conversational skills have developed.
