On Friday 9th June, the Year 6 team excelled themselves with an outstanding set of performances at the prestigious Pelican Cup. The event organised by Brighton College was played on their glorious grounds near the South Downs. The focus and skill shown by all boys over a very full day’s play was exceptional. Wins in the group stages were recorded over Westbourne House, St. Christopher’s School, Thomas’s Clapham and Copthorne Prep. This saw Rokeby go through to the final as group winners.
Batting first we scored 51 for 1 off 5 overs. Going into the last three ball opponents Windlesham needed 12 runs. Two boundaries were scored leaving 4 required off the last ball! A full and fast yorker from Captain Sebastian P ensured only one run conceded – a tight, two runs victory the result. Rokeby were the Cup winners!
