Phillips Travers Trophy Retained!

Congratulations to ALL the boys that played their part in securing a nail-biting 18-16 winning score over Cranmore to help the school retain the Phillips Travers Trophy. In total 26 matches were played involving a truly incredible 624 boys!

After the 1st XI chased down the 129 required to win, with just 3 balls remaining on Wednesday evening, the scores were level going into Thursday’s play.

The U9A match was won by Cranmore but, crucially, the U9B and U8A matches were both won by Rokeby by narrow margins. There was, therefore, all to play for going into Friday and the final day of competitive cricket.

The U10B fixture was really hard fought as Rokeby fell 12 runs short of chasing down an imposing 137. This meant the winners of the U10A match (the final fixture) would lift the trophy. Seb P and Freddie C rescued Rokeby from a parlous 38 for 5 to help post a competitive 113 for 6 declared. Cranmore, at 52 for 3, looked good to win, but with amazing resilience, Rokeby eventually pulled through, dismissing their opponents for 89 with just 3 overs remaining. When Lukas H held the winning catch, enormous and deserved celebrations took place! Well played boys!
