On the 17th March the boys in Year 3 & 4 took part in their annual House Cross Country competition. In total, 86 runners participated in the figure of eight course, measuring approximately 2km. Due to the adverse weather conditions this winter, the course was wet and muddy, ensuring an authentic cross country feel to proceedings.
The Year 5-8 cross country had already taken place earlier in the term and there was still all to run for to see which house would be victorious overall. Impressively, all boys participating were able to complete the course in under 20 minutes, highlighting the determination and strength of character from all involved.
As well as some incredible individual efforts from the boys, the camaraderie on show was great to see. The overall winner ran the course in an impressive 7 minutes 45 seconds, but more impressively 20 boys ran the race in under 10 minutes.
The total House Points scored for each year group is calculated by dividing the number of runners representing their houses in each year group by the total of the places that the competitors finished. Thus, the least amount of points is desired to be the winning house overall.
