Children see magic because they look for it. C. Moore

I have been reflecting a little on why I am lucky to be the Headmaster of this amazing prep school. One very good reason is the shining stars I am surrounded by.

Winter Wonderland was a delight in spite of good old British weather. Not one boy mentioned the general election and an awful lot of crêpes and gingerbread disappeared. In keeping with the five-pointed stars of the season, I would like to point out the five things I notice about our boys which make me remember all that is good in life:

  • they are cheerful and positive so much of the time
  • they are polite and charming and without arrogance
  • they are keen to do well and to learn
  • they are very good to each other
  • they are smart and well behaved.

Of course this is not always the case at all times and in all places. However, it is ever the exception that proves the rule. And we must remember these are valuable life skills; the magic dust which will take them far.

That is why we will be ready to welcome them all back on 6th January.

Have a very Merry Christmas and New Year.
