On Sunday 10th March, ten boys from Years 5-8 competed at the National Prep Schools Cross Country held at Malvern College, in Worcester.
Conditions were challenging with strong winds. The course provided its difficulties as well, with steep hills and challenging terrains. Our U11’s consisted of Adam C, Jack P, Charlie E, Jasper W and Sam B. The boys put in fantastic efforts, competing against over 270 boys from around the country in a 2.6 km distance. Adam ran superbly, finishing in 69th place overall, which is even more impressive considering he’s still in Year 5. All boys should be proud of their efforts in what was a very difficult cross country.
In the U13 race, the boys ran an additional section of the course to make their race 3.2 km. The squad was made up of Benjamin S, Rory M, Pip B, Oliver H, and Gigi A.
Benjamin finished in 6th place overall, even after an unfortunate start where he’d been tripped and fallen in the commotion of 150 boys flying out their pens. All the boys ran with fantastic determination and gained valuable experience, finishing 17th overall in the team event out of over 30 schools nationwide.
Well done to all those that competed.
