On Friday 8th March, 12 boys competed at the Epsom Cross Country competition from Years 5-8.
Our U11 boy’s squad consisted of Adam C, Jack P, Charlie E, Sam B, Kintaro G and Jasper W. The boys ran a tough 1.5-mile course in wet conditions but performed with great perseverance and determination. The field consisted of 190 runners with over 20 schools competing, and our boys did themselves proud. Three of the boys finished in the top 50 runners, which was a great achievement. For some of our Year 5 boys, they were competing against mainly Year 6 runners and so found the field tough, but gained valuable experience for next year.
The U13 squad consisted of Dougie B, Benjamin S, Rory M, Pip B, William P, and Gabriel H-M. The boy’s race was 2.5 miles and again was in wet conditions. Some fantastic individual achievements included a 2nd and 3rd place finish from Benjamin and Rory respectively. Dougie and Pip also came in 12th and 14th ensuring an incredibly strong team performance. This was supported very capably by Gabriel and William and ensured the boys were victorious in the team event finishing in 1st place overall. This was a fantastic team effort and the boys should be really proud of their efforts.
Well done to all the boys involved.
