Zac Goldsmith Visits Rokeby School
Posted: 16/05/2011
Rokeby School celebrated Green Day on Friday 13th May. Many boys travelled to school wearing ‘Green’ in an environmentally friendly way by cycling, walking, use of public transportation and sharing of lifts.
The day started with a visit from Zac Goldsmith, MP for the constituency of Richmond Park and North Kingston. Zac joined the 'Green' Day assembly and spoke about the 'banning fish discards'.
Throughout the day classes will be taking part in Eco workshops: Years 3-8 designed clothes from recycled materials and Years R-2 made robots from recycled materials. The weather was kind to us and lessons and assembly were held outside.
Locally sourced food was served for lunch with a visit from the local greengrocer.
